Adieu 2021!

As the year 2021 draws to a close, I look back on La Poem Story.

2021. It was the first full year during which I lived as a La View. As the year 2021 began, I started this blog with a post titled La Poem Story: It begins now. Although things go really slowly, my blog has gained regular visitors and a handful of subscribers in the past year. I thank you for coming to this place and even leaving comments on my posts or pages. Comments made in Korean are always welcome. My Korean is much better than my English.😀

It's Dec. 31, the last day of 2021. As I was thinking about La Poem in 2021, I wanted to go over this blog and give it a sort of review according to two categories – the most labor intensive, and to be revisited & recommended.

The Most Labor Intensive

Some of the posts required me to spend quite an amount of time because I needed to (a) fact-check, (b) refine the text, and/or (c) make visual aids. Such posts are the following.
  • Phantom Singer All Stars: Crossover music festival. It was my first real post concerning La Poem's first performance on Phantom Singer All Stars. It took me a little long to complete the post because it was my first writing on La Poem's performance and I wasn't accustomed to many things related to this blog outlet (i.e., blogspot) and blogging itself.
  • La Poem's First Full Concert Scene#1 published on April 25 and 26. These two posts write about La Poem's first full concert that was held in Busan. It was a long-awaited concert after two times of cancellation. I spent quite a time writing about it.
  • Ready for an Exciting Summer! As entering the summer, a new schedule related to La Poem or La Poem members was announced almost every other day. While writing the post, I had to update it very frequently and didn't know when to publish it. Now I just skimmed over it, finding that it can be a good reminder of La Poem's 2021 busy summer.
  • La View's Farewell Bus. This post writes about La View, not La Poem. I wanted to spread this heart-warming story out. Fact-checking, text-writing, and visual aids preparation consumed quite a time.
  • The End of Scene#1. After La Poem's first concert tour was completed, I wanted to put each concert together and summarize the whole experience. I spent a few days in completing this post.
  • 2021 Great Concert Series: Falling in La Poem. I hardly write a concert review because a large number of people write fantastic concert stories. Nevertheless, I wanted to write about this concert to keep it alive in my mind. For this post, I did the YouTube video work for the first time.

To Be Revisited & Recommended

As La Poem's new performances come to us, some old performances are fading away in our memory. These posts help me be reminded of those early days in 2021.
  • Phantom Singer All Stars: King of kings. La Poem's first MVP performance in Phantom Singer All Stars. It was a battle against the winners in Phantom Singer 1 and 2. The fact that La Poem won in this competition gave La View a high pride in La Poem. Thanks to this post, I learned how to make gifs.
  • Phantom Singer All Stars: The best single representative. Sunghoon representing La Poem earned the highest score, getting La Poem the second MVP trophy in Phantom Singer All Stars. His shift between head- and chest-voice was exquisite. His health-related struggle was heart-wrenching.
  • Phantom Singer All Stars: Never-seen combinations of teams. Two tenors Chaehoon and John No paired up and sang a song of a girl-group singer, which itself was surprising. The music was even more surprising, with new attempts being made to the song.
  • Phantom Singer All Stars: Harmony of LaRaLe. It was probably the most harmonious singing performance in Phantom Singer All Stars. When a beautiful song was sung by beautiful singers, the outcome was a match made in heaven.
  • Chaehoon's View on Phantom of the Orchestra. I'd like to recommend this post because it shows how Chaehoon thinks and feels about other singers, in particular Minseong and Kihun. In this post, I just translated Chaehoon's words into English.

I do not write a post often but update the pages (e.g., La DayTV Performances, Event InvitationsConcerts and Tours, Albums) frequently. I write a new post when I have an idea or am inspired by something. Despite this slow update, I thank again those who come to this blog regularly. I have no idea what the year 2022 will be like and how well I'll run this blog. What's certain though is my affection for La Poem. This blog is an outlet of that affection.

Happy New Year!
